I love the beauty of simplicity when it comes to design.
Like most people, I’ve never had an unlimited budget when it comes to renovating and decorating. My husband and I have 2 children, a dog, and a beautiful home. We’ve owned 4 houses during our marriage, and did work to each one we lived in. We bought each house because we saw potential to make it our own, and because the numbers just made sense. Potential takes money, however, and pinching pennies when needed. It’s a process- a process most homeowners can relate to.
I started my business to help other homeowners with that process, but my focus was mostly on decorating & furnishing and just getting my clients settled into their new homes. However, Knack has grown into so much more. My clients have trusted me with their kitchen and bathroom remodels, bedroom and living room renovations, basement remodels, and even remodeling their entire home. It has been an incredible journey. I absolutely love design, and it’s been amazing to finally use my creative brain to its fullest potential.
I hope you find this website is helpful, inspirational, and lighthearted.

A house should feel like a home.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to all things home and design. I remember at 8 years old being ecstatic that I got to go to a home show with my parents. I would ask for home magazines and look through every page memorizing the designs, cutting out the pictures that I liked, and making my own room boards. In middle school, my dad got me a home design computer program and I’d spend hours designing houses. I would walk around my own home as a teenager and think about ways I could improve the design and make it feel right. That love for design has continued to this day.
Now, I have a husband and four children. Life for us is constantly chaotic, but when my kids walk through our front door, I want them to feel at peace; I want them to feel at home. Growing up I would often hear people say, “We can’t live in a magazine,” and while I agree with that sentiment, just because we don’t live in a magazine, doesn’t mean we can’t have spaces in our home that make us feel good!
Our homes should be a tangible expression of our personalities. They should be uniquely ours! Creating a space for someone is a personal experience that excites and nearly overwhelms me, but I love the adventure!
